Step 1: Open Copilot
- Go to the Copilot interface (like in Microsoft Edge, Teams, Word, or directly via a Copilot-enabled app).
- Make sure you're signed in with your work Microsoft account and see the green shield.

Step 2: Upload Your PDF
- Drag and drop your PDF file into the chat window.
- Alternatively, use the paperclip icon 📎 or Upload File button to select your PDF.
Step 3: Ask Copilot to Summarize
- Type a prompt like:
“Can you summarize this PDF for me?”
- You can also ask for specific types of summaries:
- “Give me a bullet-point summary.”
- “Summarize only the introduction and conclusion.”
- “Extract key findings and recommendations.”
Step 4: Review the Summary
- Copilot will read the PDF and generate a summary.
- You can ask follow-up questions like:
- “What are the main arguments?”
- “Can you simplify this for a 10-year-old?”
Step 5: Export or Copy the Summary
- You can copy the summary directly.
- Or ask Copilot:
“Can you save this summary as a Word document or PDF?”
